of Medicine Continued Competency and
Assessment Form required for renewal of an

Statement of Educational Need
This activity is designed to respond to
the needs of obstetricians/gynecologists
and other physicians who care for women
at risk for osteoporosis or with established
osteoporosis.
Educational Objectives
After reading this newsletter and
completing the post-test, the participant
should be able to:
- Describe the factors that determine bone quality and the relationship of bone quality to osteoporosis.
- Describe the effects of the discontinuation of estrogen on bone density and bone markers.
- Compare the relative effects of antiresorptive agents on spine and hip BMD.
- Appreciate the importance of adopting a more aggressive approach to the diagnosis of osteoporosis.

The educational information is presented
in an 8-page newsletter.
Statement of Evaluation Instrument
The completion of a 10-question, multiple-choice post-test amd the evaluation instrument is required for CME credit.

for patients with osteoporosis.
